Upcycled Sweather

It may not be sweater time in SW Ohio, in fact, it is really hot and muggy! This is a good time though to sort through out of season clothes and either donate or upcycle them. Have loved this sweater as very comfortable and the fabric is perfect! Has seen many years of wearing though. A few grommets, ribbon, and bells give it a nice fresh look for the winter season.

Grommets are fairly easy and quick to put in. Follow the manufacturer's instructions in the kit you buy. They can be bought various sizes from 3/16 inch to 2 inches, either gold or silver. I bought size 3/8 inch - called a size 2.

Mark the spot for the grommets. Insert them as directed.
I first threaded some ribbon through and tied with one bow.
I think I like the gold ribbon holding the two bells.

Thread anything through to personalize it! Add more grommets! Just have fun!

Happy sewing!
