So many feet and notions!

When you begin accumulating so many sewing feet (it is wonderful!) and sewing notions, there has to be a way to organize it. So many of you have ingenious methods of doing this. Just thought I would share mine.

I have all the threads in bins. There are 4 compartments and a huge area in the top. Since each compartment fits in separately and can be pulled out to head to the sewing table or machine, makes it very easy to grab the colors and go.

Same type of bins for the sewing feet. With machines of varying shank, and models I keep them all separately for my sanity. Some compartments will have slant, others low, and others for the Bernina. An overflow is the sewing case from Bernina. I do believe I am ready tobuy another one! Nice to use as each compartment has plastic seperaters and they can be inserted for the same sizes or various sizes. That helps when placing the tucker and the ruffler in. Large items like zigzaggers and circular stitchers can fit in the top.

Bias tapes, ribbons, braids are all kept in smaller bins. Usually fairly organized. Fat quarters do have a place, but way too full and beginning to overflow! Ready to buy another bin! Large yardage of fabric is stored in another huge cabinet.

All very inexpensive and bought at the local store. What would we do without plastic bins? Sort of like those post-it notes....

Happy Stitchery!

Thank you for all the tips. I'm in the process of remodeling a room into a sewing room and new ideas will certainly help :)

Hi Charlene,

I put my stuff in a cabinet:

But I think I have a bit less than you!

Somehow more just keeps sneaking into the sewing room! (grin)
