Using Mylar for sewing at Bella Quilts

I had a wonderful time today at Bella Quilts - also find them on Facebook. If you are looking for some fabric heaven, then this is the place to be! Walk in and you are surrounded by fabrics, notions, finished quilts, and a very, very friendly staff!

I enjoyed all the ladies who came to my presentation of using Mylar film with your regular (and always going) sewing machine. Not just for embroidery! After a brief demonstration, they were ready to sew and sew they did! So interesting to see the designs and how even the same color of mylar film changes with thread choice and fabric colors! Ladies - my hat goes off to you all!
My "always reliable" BERNINA was in heavy use and didn't let anyone down. The stippling stitch pattern seemed almost made for the mylar designs.

Another fab surprise when arrived home. My 1927 issue of Art of Dressmaking by butterick had arrived! Now to relax with my "new" wonderful book!

One of my recommended books - more about it later!

Happy Stitchery!

(quick note: I always get my Mylar film for great prices and selection at Heirlooms by Sharon.)
