This foot will keep several (up to three!) decorative cord, elastic, or heavy threads in place while you stitch or couch them into place.
There are three holes in front of the needle in which you place the your cording, ribbons, braid, or decorative thread. I love putting about 6 strands of #8 metallic threads and couching over.
Hold your thread from front to back and slide into place.
The more substance your decorative thread has, the more satisfactory your outcome.
Remove your regular presser foot and place the Multi-Cording and Braiding Foot on. Set your machine for a zig-zag or decorative stitch.
Tips
Use elastic thread in the middle, surrounded on each side by a narrow ribbon. As you sew, you are creating a decorative elastic band.
Use Pearl Cotton and narrow ribbons. Possibly braid them as they enter the foot.
Use a simple zig-zag stitch or a more decorative, embroidered stitch.
