This foot automatically creates small tucks in the fabric. There are five parallel grooves on the bottom of the foot, allowing multiple rows of tucks to be sewn closely and evenly spaced. The best fabrics are fine cotton, linen, silk, or tafetta. You can also work with woolens after a bit of practice!
The pintuck foot works in conjunction with the twin needle. Twin needles are available in various spacing widths.
Check our other listings for the various needles you will need.
The pintuck foot comes in 5, 7, and 9 grooves. Above is the 5 groove, and below is the 9 groove. Note the distance between grooves. The distance determines the size of pintuck you will get.
For a more predominant effect, add cording. Place the cording underneath the fabric, so that it is centered between the twin needle and in one of the grooves.

Use your pintuck foot for heirloom sewing!
Fold and press the edge of your two fabric pieces. Place cording or gimp along the edge. Set your machine for a zigzag stitch that covers the cording (couching). Position the fabric so the cording is in one of the pin tuck grooves. Sew. Repeat for the other fabric piece.
Now to sew them together. I use washable stabilizer underneath to secure the stitches. Washes away when finished.
Choose a 'bridging" pattern stitch. Set the stitch width so it just catches each piece of fabric. Sew.
Sew your pintucks in clusters or more like "ribbing".
Try sewing your pintucks in cross-hatch! Sew all one direction, and then sew more at 90 degrees.
Try using your twin needles for hemming. Finish the raw edge and sew a hem!
