The table of contents is listed above which shows which specific machines are noted. In addition to pages for specific machines, there are over 12 pages of Singer attachments listed by part number, attachment name and the machines it fits. These 12 pages go in chronological order, beginning with the earliest attachments and continuing.

In 1957 instruction manuals, Singer Sewing specifically cited which machines were called attachments, fashion aids, and special attachments.

Written permission has been granted by the Singer Sewing Machine Company to use Singer names, trademarks, and photos in order to not impose on copyrights.

Many people have compiled lists of Singer attachments and it is long, hard work. You can find them many places and they are readily shared. Manuals can be found at the Smithsonian online, flea markets, and through family and friends. Each of you can create your own compilation of Singer attachments, if you wish.

Over the years, I have listed attachment numbers on scrap papers, collected page after page of instruction manuals - this compilation is an attempt to make the task easier at finding each one and hopefully at a lot of information readily avaialbe to you.

Will I have made some typing errors? Possibly, although I hope not and have tried to be as accurate as possible, and I will be happy to note your thoughts should you share them with me.

Are all of the Singer attachments listed? Not at all - that could be just another lifetime of work (and quite a few more pairs of glasses and magnifying glasses later!). I am still looking and continually adding to this work. Many thanks to the kind readers who send me additional attachment names and numbers!

Are we learning new things about the Singer attachments each day, as to which machines those not noted specifically will work best on? Certainly!

Although the first section is a compilation listed chronologically by Singer part number, the next section covers specific machines (see the table of contents below for those listed). Is this a repeat of the earlier information? No. In this section I tried to only include those attachments and numbers which Singer specified to each machine. There are quite a few Singer numbers assigned to attachments which look identical. Indeed, they may be the same. Possibly as Singer manufactured new machines, they changed part numbers over the years. The true reason is not known to me, yet it can get confusing.
